Science Club

Welcome to the Noxon Science Club! Our club is advised by Mrs. Teri Burt, Mr. Jared VanVleet, and Mr. Dave Nye. We participate in many activities throughout the year, and we have a lot of fun learning about the world around us. Here are some of the things that we do:

Science Olympiad

Every fall we take a bus to Bozeman, Montana to participate in the Montana Science Olympiad. This is an academic competition that involves all areas of science for kids in junior high and high school.

Envirothon

In the spring, we create at least one team of five kids to go to Lewistown, Montana for the Montana Envirothon. The Envirothon is an academic competition in which the team tests in 5 areas: Forestry, Range, Wildlife, Soils, and Aquatics; then solves an environmental problem and presents it.

Robotics

Robotics Club is also under Science Club, but you can learn more about it on the Robotics page.

Fundraising

To fund all of the activities that we participate in, we do a lot of fundraising. One ongoing project we have is a Christmas Tree Lot. We trim the trees all year, and then at Christmas we sell them to the community.

At the end of the summer, everyone goes to the Huckleberry Festival in Trout Creek. Our club has a food booth there that we call the Bass Booth. We sell all sorts of yummy food and earn lots of money!

In the fall, we go to the Northern Lights yard in Trout Creek and clean in up. That involves painting sometimes, raking up leaves, pulling weeds, whatever. Then we get to take the scrap wire and recycle it for money.
